ArtComplex Opening and ORIGO Exhibition

On August 8, amidst ceremonial celebrations, the ArtColony Cered art colony inaugurated its 28th season with the opening of our newest pride, the ArtComplex, spanning over 400 square meters.

The former collective farm office in Cered was transformed into ArtComplex, housing one of the best-equipped art colony workshops in Europe, an exhibition showcasing interiors reminiscent of the 80s, and the new gallery of the art colony, Gallery 23.

The opening event’s exhibition was titled ORIGO, symbolically referring to the beginning, the starting point, namely the launch of Gallery 23. The grand international opening exhibition, the first to be presented in the ArtComplex Cered institution spaces, featured a selection of artworks from various genres of visual arts.

The exhibition, presenting works from 53 artists from 12 countries, emphasized creations in the graphic genres, simultaneously reflecting the launch of the art colony’s new graphic workshop.

The aim of the exhibition was to provide an overview of the characteristics of these genres and their procedural and technical diversity through selected artworks. This was achieved through the works of artists who are personally or indirectly connected to the creative environment and spirit of the Cered Art Colony.

Alongside locally created artworks, the exhibition featured invited works that represent procedural and technical uniqueness within their genres, placing their creators within the individual artistic mainstream.
